Hi lovelies, another amazing episode with the beautiful Jeanne (pronounced Jhon ) Andrus. I apologize to Jeanne in my introduction I pronounced your name incorrectly! Jeanne has been helping women navigate their Menopause Journey for well over a decade. It started with her own journey to health and happiness.
Im all about this topic, so much taboo around it but its important that we talk about it and it is NOT in our heads! Menopause Matters and she is here to tell us why.
When she realized how little information and support was available as she navigated through menopause herself, she was determined to help women understand and control the changes that they were going through. More importantly, to help them understand how menopause is a gift in their lives, allowing them to move themselves from the periphery of their lives to placing their own desires and purpose into the center of their life. Finally, and more importantly to help remove the taboo of menopause - the idea that women past menopause are invisible, or over the hill, or all washed up. Jeane often tells the story of how this negative perception of post-menopause is inculcated in us from an early age, and why this is such a wrong perception of the amazing opportunity which menopause opens for women.
We talk about being positively selfish and that we need to be, we often go to the Dr about our symptoms and ask for help and are told its nothing, you just have to "go through it" What's worse is that along the way, the different hormonal imbalances affect how well we sleep and how our sleep is disrupted differently. So, there's not a one-size-fits-all solution. Even Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) will not fix all the ways we don't sleep.
Jeanne dives into the foods, diet, or lack of diet and cortisal stress hormones and the 5 best tips for sleep.
In addition to her coaching, Jeanne is the author of five international best sellers on menopause, including “I Just want to Be ME Again!” (now in its second edition) and her book aimed towards men trying to understand how menopause is affecting someone they love – “Where is My Wife and What Have You Done with Her?”
Remember, Menopuase doesnt have to take over your life
