Justice: God's Vision to Restore All Things (Part 1 of 5): "Mending a Broken World"
God is at work to make all things new.
We look around and see things that are not right. Something within us says, “No, that’s not the way it’s supposed to be!” We believe that in Christ, God is setting the world right. As we follow the Risen Jesus into the world, what does it look like to participate in God’s mission of justice?
May we live as agents of God's new creation: welcoming the stranger, caring for the vulnerable, loving the hurting and broken, proclaiming and demonstrating the Kingdom of God that has come and is yet to come.
Jesus’ resurrection was the inauguration of God’s new creation. As N.T. Wright says, “ A whole new world in which everything will be set right at last.” This week's message is an intro sermon tracing the story of God’s just world from creation (Genesis 1) and what God intended for humanity through the reality of living in a fallen, unjust world all the way to new creation brought about in and through Jesus Christ. What was lost in the fall is being restored in Christ.
