Justice: God's Vision to Restore All Things (Part 5 of 5): "The Spirit of God Poured Out"
God is at work to make all things new.
We look around and see things that are not right. Something within us says, “No, that’s not the way it’s supposed to be!” We believe that in Christ, God is setting the world right. As we follow the Risen Jesus into the world, what does it look like to participate in God’s mission of justice?
May we live as agents of God's new creation: welcoming the stranger, caring for the vulnerable, loving the hurting and broken, proclaiming and demonstrating the Kingdom of God that has come and is yet to come.

On the day of Pentecost, Peter quotes the prophet Joel declaring the Spirit is poured out. Men and Women. Young and Old. Even on my servants. The Spirit is poured out.
We are called to be agents of new creation, empowered by the Spirit, living as signs and foretastes and instruments (Leslie Newbigin) of the life that is to come. Empowered by the Holy Spirit, we join God in God’s work of justice. For those early Christians, the Spirit poured out among them led them to a shared life around the table.
Today, we celebrate the gift of the Holy Spirit.
