Being in Indiana back then…trout stocking programs didn’t really exist, so it was all about bass and bluegill..or whatever would take a painted cork popper. Once I was into my teenage years and into my 20’s..I had gotten away from fly fishing and primarily was focused on local bass tournaments. Then through some unfortunate family events and being gifted both my father and grandfather’s fly rods, I decided I needed to get back into it..and it rekindled a love and passion that had been missing in my fishing for so many years. Being bitten by the bass bug for all those years never stopped though, so I began learning how to tie streamers and it took off from there to what is now my true passion in fly fishing…the smallmouth bass.
