Aug. 28, 2024 ~ In a move many called undemocratic, the then Republican-led Michigan Legislature passed a state minimum wage hike ballot proposal before it could make it on the ballot in 2018, before gutting the bill with amendments during that year's lame-duck session. Now, the Michigan Supreme Court ruled that the amendments were unconstitutional, reinstating the minimum wage increases. Justin Winslow, head of the Michigan Restaurant and Lodging Association, shares his concerns on the court's ruling.
