Law enforcement agencies from Bartow County and Cartersville responded to a shooting involving their K-9 unit. The incident occurred at a truck stop near Tellus Drive off Interstate 75 in Cartersville. The K-9 was shot multiple times. A SKYFOX 5 helicopter spotted a car in a retention pond near a gas station, and officers searched the adjacent woods. The car’s driver, a suspect in a kidnapping case from Floyd County, was stopped using a PIT maneuver, causing the crash. The driver then fled into a nearby forest, and the authorities have not released further information about the suspect. Emergency vehicles were seen at the scene.
