On the outskirts of Kashi stands a cursed shrine known as “Kaali Chauki.” Once built as a resting post, it turned into a place of dread after a cruel landlord buried his servant alive there. Locals whisper that at midnight, the goddess’s idol opens its eyes — and anyone caught in her gaze disappears forever. Even today, travelers avoid that road after dark, for the ground itself seems to hold those who dare to stay.
