Cybersecurity is the protection of computer systems and networks from information disclosure, theft of or damage to their hardware, software, or electronic data, as well as from the disruption or misdirection of the services they provide. Dr Atif Ahmed is an Associate Professor at the University of Melbourne where he serves as Deputy Director for the Academic Centre of Cyber Security Excellence. He leads a unique team of Cybersecurity Management researchers drawn from information systems, business administration, security intelligence, and information warfare. He spoke to KalamCast about what Cyber Security is, some of the pressing issues within the field and potential opportunities for work.
