"Vaththai" is a traditional, non-mechanized, flat-bottomed wooden fishing boat used by fisherfolk along the coast of Tamilnadu, particularly in the Palk Bay and Gulf of Mannar regions. In this episode of Karaiyin Suvadigal, we speak with the 'Vaththai' using fishermen from both the North and South coasts of Pamban Island who have different fishing methods despite using the same boat.
