Definition:

1. Plebiscite- A joint decision by the Kashmiri people concerning the political destiny of Kashmir. The choice for the Kashmiri people was mandated by the United Nations in deciding whether they would become independent of India and Pakistan (autonomous) or side with either of the two countries.
