The trust which supports grandparents bringing up their grandchildren will today have a new national support office to work from.
Grandparents Raising Grandchildren supports just over 4000 grandparents, who now care for kids whose parents are affected by drug and crime problems.
The office will come along with a clothing allowance given to the carers at the same rate to those who offer foster care, for the first time.
The Trusts' chief executive Kate Bundle told Mike Hosking the trust is a lifeline in terms of resource and help.
"For thousands of grandparents who are raising their grandchildren full time, it certainly is a huge source of support and community."
