Kate Courtney played a lot of sports growing up. She skied, ran cross country, rode horses, and did gymnastics. And like many kids, her bike was a fun a way to get to blueberry pancakes on Sunday mornings with her parents.

It turns out she's pretty good at riding to pancakes. At only 22, Kate just returned from winning the 2018 UCI World Championships in mountain biking, the first for an American since 2001.

Kate sat down with David Swain to talk about how she got here, her community of support, and some of the nutrition, training and mental strategies behind her success.
