On Ask Win today (Wednesday, March 20, 2019), Best-Selling Author, Win C welcomes Kate DeCoste. Kate is a small town/big city gal who grew up in Wahoo, Nebraska and graduated from Wahoo High School. After receiving a BA in Theatre Arts from Doane University, Kate pursued the path that felt most comfortable which was a career as a production stage manager. In the fall of 2000, Kate moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin to work for First Stage Children's theater.  During the four years that Kate lived in Milwaukee, she also worked for two other small companies before deciding to make the leap to New York City. After Kate made it through the first year in NYC, Kate never thought that she would live anywhere else or do anything else. Three years later, Kate would prove herself wrong. In the spring of 2008 Kate found herself not sure of living in New York or being a stage manager. Kate decided to take a break and come back home.  Kate’s friends and family (and honestly, herself too) thought Kate just needed a little break and would be back living in New York after a few months. Though Kate didn't know it then, the universe was telling her to make this move for something that would come a few years later.  In the winter of 2011 Kate’s mom was diagnosed with lung cancer.  Most cancer patients will live 2 years, her mom lived 3 years.  Kate is so grateful she was already home and could be by her side those three years. Fast forward to today. Kate serve on the boards for the Wahoo Chamber of Commerce, Senior Chief Scott DeCoste Memorial Scholarship (in honor of her brother) and the Wahoo Public Schools Foundation. Kate is also a member of the Junior League of Lincoln, Nebraska and a mentor for the TeamMates program in Wahoo. Though Kate is not a stage manager full time anymore, every once in a blue moon that she will take a gig.  Kate have traveled to the Berkshires of Massachusetts and southwest Colorado for the opportunities to work with amazing artists in the theatre world.  Always with a camera in hand. Kate hope that she get to capture your moments very soon. To learn more about Kate visit www.katedecostephotography.com.
