During Saturday’s Role on Hellenic Radio with Renos Nicos Spanoudes, our representative in Greece, Katerina Simboni Paraskeva dedicates her segment to the song ’Kemal’ by Manos Hadjidakis. The album “Reflections” which was released in 1969 in New York, was composed by Manos Hadjidakisand performed by the New York Rock and Roll Ensemble. In 1993, it was released again with Greek lyrics written by Nikos Gatsos in Athens. The most famous song of the album is ofcourse Kemal, a splendid song, with haunting lyrics and tune, very evocative of the mysterious near east.
