Kathrin Jakob is a 26 year old singer from Germany, Bavaria, currently living in Los Angeles, CA.
She graduated from the Los Angeles College of Music with an Associate of Arts degree in Vocal Performance and works now as a singer/songwriter and session singer.
Kathrin always liked to sing and wished to do so in front of a crowd. When she started taking Piano lessons at the age of 13 she first got involved with music. Later she joined the local school band as the lead singer and she started taking voice lessons with Klaudia Salcovic-Lang.
After graduating from highschool (Gymnasium) she decided to make music her profession and applied to the "music college" in Regensburg, Germany. Her voice coaches were Lucy Frank, (Zick Sisters), Gunther Conrad and Stefanie Polster. She graduated in July 2012 with the title "Ensemble Leader in the Field of Rock/Pop/Jazz" and an additional pedagogical qualification, with a voice major.
Several students took voice and piano lessons with Kathrin while she lived in Germany. She also was a co-leader of the choir and the vocal ensemble in her school.
In 2012 Kathrin decided to take her career a step further and she moved to Los Angeles to continue her studies at the LA Music Academy, in Pasadena. She worked with teachers such as Kacee Clanton (Janis Joplin Broadway, Joe Cocker), Teresa James, Dorian Holley (Michael Jackson, The Tonight Show), Nikhil Korula, Tierney Sutton and lots of other great and known musicians.
Kathrin now is writing and recording her own music.
Driven by the belief that anything is possible she's pursuing her dream of working as a full-time singer/songwriter and plans to bring out an EP in the near future.
Recently there's also been a hype about Kathrin's yodeling talent, which brought her on several TV shows in Germany and Europe's biggest Sunday newspaper. Her video for "He taught me how to yodel" can be seen on youtube.
Some of her experiences include singing at weddings and church services, studio jobs for film productions, background singing, recording demos and gigs such as acoustic and cover music.
