Kathy Haley: Domestic Violence Expert

Kathy Haley is a 1985 graduate from the Tampa campus of The University of South Florida earning a B.S. Degree in Criminal Justice. 
Since her graduation she has held various positions with the Florida Department of Corrections to include Probation Officer, Drug Court Officer, and Correctional Services Assistant Administrator where she was directly involved in the certification and monitoring of Batterers’ Intervention Programs throughout the state of Florida.
Haley was selected by the late Governor Lawton Chiles to serve as a member of the Commission on Minimum Standards for Batterer’s Treatment. 
Kathy has also been an active volunteer for various non-profit organizations dedicated to serving victims of domestic violence as well as the Auburndale Police Department.  She has been honored for her work in the area of Domestic Violence by J.C.Penney, The City of Lakeland, and the Florida Department of Corrections.
Kathy knows what it means to be a victim and survivor of Domestic Violence having been a victim herself and survived a near fatal incident in 1992. 
She is dedicated to educating the public about Domestic Violence and is a strong advocate for changes to the laws that effect victims.
