A frustrating afternoon at AESSEAL New York Stadium as Rotherham United were held to a 1–1 draw by a struggling AFC Wimbledon side in a game that should have delivered three points.
Rotherham started brightly and took the lead, but once again failed to capitalise on periods of dominance. Wimbledon, low on confidence coming into the match, grew into the game far too easily and punished sloppy defending to level the score.
The second half summed up Rotherham’s season at home: plenty of the ball, very little cutting edge. The tempo dropped, decision-making in the final third was poor, and there was a clear lack of urgency despite the opposition sitting deep and inviting pressure.
For a team with aspirations of pushing up the table, these are the games that cannot be wasted. Dropped points at home against teams at the wrong end of the league will cost you — and today felt like another missed opportunity.
We’ll break it all down live after the match: performances, tactics, substitutions, and where it went wrong yet again at home.
