BMAS?! (with Buddha And The Beard)

Keenan Scott II, talks Art, Family, and Set Backs

Listen Later

On our mid season finale we sit down for an extended conversation, with friend of the show, Keenan Scott II, who is a playwright, poet, actor, director, and producer of original work from Queens, New York. We discuss how he went from being a shy kid unable to remember his words at a DC open mic to now being one of seven Black playwrights leading the reopening of Broadway this fall (yeah, that Broadway).

This episode is for anyone that has experienced failure, rejection and set backs of any kind; Keenan shows that when doors don't open for you, it might just be time to build a new house (in the middle of NYC). A moment that has now been over 10 years in the making ‘Thoughts of a Colored Man’ makes its debut at the Golden Theater this Friday, Oct 1st. Under normal circumstances Buddha and the Beard would be scalping tickets out front but since this is the homie, you can grab your tickets here https://thoughtsofacoloredman.com/

We finally have an episode this season we can share with our moms, but if you need content for your inner Hugh (and pre pandemic Buddha) feel free to catch up with our recent Back-burner episode. As usual each and every episode of BMAS is FUBU, IYKYK.
