Jesus presented Himself alive for forty days to 500 witnesses after His Resurrection. Afterwards, He told the disciples to wait for the miraculous to happen when the Holy Spirit baptized them with fire on the day of Pentecost. The miraculous is about to happen again! 40 has several meanings, purifying of water, a new beginning, a period of testing, trial of faith, struggle of faith, probation time, the concept of renewal.
