Love the story and being able to see the characters ...
Love the story and being able to see the characters as they were in the series. The writing is competent, though not necessarily very professional. The writer loves the ellipses....and the stream of consciousness, much of which seemed unnecessary. But it's all about the story, really, and it's a compelling one. I'm grateful to have the story continue.
I enjoyed the show.
The books are ok. I'm loyal to the show but books are short and not very rich. Seems like a rush job. Hope they get stronger before it all ends.
Can't wait for Book 3! Really loving the series!
Book 2 goes even deeper into the lives of most of the characters (although Steph and Stan have become very minor characters, almost extinct... Do they come back in book 3?) And really starts bringing the War closer to home. Several scenes brought tears to both my husband and my eyes...no spoiler alerts here though! Really enjoying the continuation!
Home Fires
Have read non-fiction about WI and the amazing contributions these brave women made to the war effort. Really enjoyed the TV series. Very disappointed did not continue. Glad these booklets are continuing the story of these believable fictional characters. Look forward to the next two.
