Winston Welch, executive director of the Outdoor Circle talks about how the Outdoor Circle was started by a small group of women in 1912.  Their mission was to protect the beauty of Hawaii.  The Outdoor Circle advocates for responsible land use and development.  They plant and protect trees, provide environmental education to children, work to eliminate inappropriate signage, protect open spaces, and promote community beautification.  They recently had a tree giveaway event in Manoa in 2022 where they gave away 1000 trees to community members.
