School violence, more notably school shootings has become all too common in today's world. Parents and schools are meant to work together as school plays a part in their upbringing.
When a school fails communication, keeping parents in the dark, it causes a break in trust. Trust is not so easily won back. I talk about the dismissal in the importance of a threat whether it turns out benign or real. A weapon in school equals a threat. A threat doesn't have to be textual or verbal to be a threat. An act is a threat. Listen to what happened at our school. If the school doesn't listen or take accountability then use the outlets you have to be heard. We shouldn't fear sending our kids to school.
