Episode Title:
Keeping the moisture out of your home
Episode Summary:
Contractor John talks about the importance of exhaust fans in your home to help keep moisture out, especially the bathroom fan. How to size it, what is CFM, what is a “sone” rating are a few of the items covered.
Topics discussed in this episode:
The acronyms mentioned in the show
ACH = Air Changes per Hour
CFM = Cubic Feet per Minute
CFH = Cubic Feet per Hour
Formula for properly sixing your bath fan
W x L x H x 8 ACH =CFH (cubic feet per hour) then divide by 60 (minutes) to get CFM
***** Now if you run the formula you will get 48 cfm for a typical 9 x 5 bathroom. The smallest bathroom exhaust fan I have seen is 50 cfm, which will work just fine.
Resources mentioned in this episode:
The best for any Voice Work Roy Worley Voice Over
Contractor John’s book the Dimension Bible for DIYers and Remodelors available at Contractror John
