In this inaugural episode of a planned series of podcasts on regulatory policies and procedures impacting agricultural biotechnology, Wiley’s Keith Matthews and Dr. Chris Wozniak – who recently retired as EPA’s senior expert and policy advisor on biotechnology – discuss some of the factors that influence U.S. regulatory approaches to ag biotech. In future episodes of the podcasts, Keith and Chris will discuss specific policies, initiatives, and actions by USDA’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), FDA’s Centers for Veterinary Medicine (CVM) and Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (CFSAN), and EPA’s Office of Chemical Safety and Pollution Prevention (OCSPP). They will also discuss developments occurring in Europe, Asia, and Africa with respect to evolving approaches to regulation of ag biotech.
