Founder of TWO seven-figure businesses, under-30 Ken Cesar, is back on the Cold Star Project. This is an unusual episode because it's Cold Star Tech founder Jason Kanigan and Ken Cesar having a frank discussion of what's wrong with the Internet Marketing-driven business model and mindset... and what it takes to build a real business today.
Ken insisted we have this nothing-held-back, no-sacred-cows conversation because he, like me, is irritated with the copy-and-paste popup businesses we've been seeing so much of for the past several years.
They're created by rushing newbie business owners who have no idea what they're doing beyond copying a broken business model--and making something that MAY generate a splash of revenue for a short time before quickly becoming obsolete. The "owner" has therefore built precisely nothing. It is an epidemic getting worse and worse, and we want to do something to fight it.
Ripping off someone else's business, such as copying an Amazon drop shipping knife sales operation and trying to supply the product at a lower price...which is probably a business already ripped off from someone else... is NOT the way to long term or even medium term sustainable success. There are other things you need to be focusing on: things that are not at all being talked about in the IM-driven world.
Expect contrarian concepts and a depth of inquiry and understanding you won't hear anywhere else.
