Kengan Ashura, the underground fighting manga is our topic of choice today! #KenganAshura #anime #manga #review Kengan Ashura was suggested by a fan (thanks to Mr SweetCuppachino) and it was suggested on our Berserk episode, which got us excited. Could this be the next Berserk? Would it blow our minds away by how good it was? Let's see. Kengan Ashura is a manga in which companies fight for business deals by employing fighters to go at each other's throats in underground fighting rings. These situations lead to life-or-death matches sometimes, and a lot of employers decide to dispose of the fighters if they lose. One bold man, Mr Nogi, decides to challenge the chairman, Mr Katahara and starts the Kengan Annihilation Tournament where the winner replaces Mr Katahara as chairman. To do that, the challengers would have to defeat the famed "Fang of Metsudo" who is said to be the strongest in the world. Can our protagonist, a man named Tokita Ohma stand against these monsters? 

What kind of a monster is he?  Truth be told, we weren't the most excited with this manga. Bru is a pacifist by nature and doesn't like fights without deep meaning or story. Sid is very choosy about his type of action, but loves well animated and choreographed action. He deemed the series not great due to it not meeting his standards. And Audi... Well, Audi doesn't read manga that is not about history or space or something he personally loves a lot. Weirdly, the pacifist was the only one who finished the manga, but Bru claims that the series started following a formula and the story started getting thinner and thinner until it stopped being a story and just became a free-for-all. The Ashita no Joe reference was pretty cool but didn't have anywhere near the same impact that the OG fighter did. Overall, not the preferred type of manga for the 3 weebs, but please do suggest more anime we can watch!  Let us know your thoughts on the series in the comments down below!
