Kenny Loggins wrote the song, "This Is It". The song was written after Kenny's father had vascular problems and didn't know what to do about it. So the song is about Kenny's father suffering terrible pain. Now we can understand the lyrics of why Kenny said, "Are you gonna wait for a sign, your miracle? Stand up and fight! (This is it).

I'm sure we've all felt the lyrics somewhere in our own lives. Like the time my mother passed away. I felt the words to the song and understood. Like the time I looked up and saw Michael Jackson on television telling the world "this is it"; giving his best one last time. Kenny Loggins wrote a song that we all can relate to.

The song "This Is It" features additional vocals by Michael McDonald, who co-wrote the song with Kenny. The song won a Grammy Award in 1981 for Best Pop Vocal Performance, Male. It's a song that's always new to me everyday.
