Kerry Gladue is an intake official with Calgary's Simon House Recovery Centre and part of his job is to assess those who come in to the centre to see if they are ready for the programs that turn around those whose lives have been set off course by addiction. However for Kerry, seeing the men who come in, he hears stories that all too familiar for him. He recounts the stories of his life in a new book called "Second Chances - The Kerry Gladue Story." To some, his experiences would be harrowing to remember but Kerry will share his experiences in foster homes and in jail during a special event Wednesday night, October 9 at the downtown public library in Calgary.
