As a hard throwing right-handed pitcher from Texas taken as the #1 overall pick in the draft, Kerry Wood was bound to draw a lot of comparisons to Nolan Ryan and Roger Clemens. He was a highly touted prospect, but nobody knew what he could do when he'd finally put it all together. He did that on May 6, 1998 of his rookie year against a potent Astros squad.
