Nursing Considerations

• may cause GI bleeding, Stevens-Johnson Syndrome, anaphylaxis, drowsiness • should not exceed 5 days of therapy • bleeding risk increased with garlic, ginger, and ginkgo • may decrease effectiveness of hypertensive medications and diuretics
