Kevin Franke, the husband of Utah parenting influencer Ruby Franke, had zero contact with his children while separated from Ruby for over a year, he told police in an interview released by the Washington County Attorney’s office.

Ruby Franke and her business partner, Jodi Hildebrandt, were arrested for aggravated child abuse after police said Franke’s 12-year-old “emaciated” son escaped Hildebrandt’s Ivins home on Aug. 30 and asked a neighbor for help. Responding officers soon found Franke’s 10-year-old daughter also malnourished inside Hildebrandt’s home.

The two women pleaded guilty to four counts of aggravated child abuse in December, and were each sentenced in February to spend at east four years in prison.

Mica Miller estate documents claim abuse, attempt to hide assets. Prior to her death, Mica was in the middle of divorce proceedings with her estranged husband, John-Paul Miller, who is a pastor at Solid Rock Church in The Market Common. According to an affidavit released to ABC15, Mica's sister, Sierra Francis applied to be the special administrator of Mica's estate on May 2, less than a week after her passing and four days before the Robeson County Medical Examiner announced her cause of death as suicide.

PARK CITY, Utah -- A Utah woman who authorities say fatally poisoned her husband, then published a children’s book about coping with grief, will appear in court Wednesday for a hearing that will determine whether state prosecutors have enough evidence against her to proceed with a trial. Kouri Richins, 33, faces several felony charges for allegedly killing her husband with a lethal dose of fentanyl in March 2022 at their home in a small mountain town near Park City. Prosecutors say she slipped five times the lethal dose of the synthetic opioid into a Moscow mule cocktail that Eric Richins, 39, drank.

Sheriff asks FBI and State Attorney General to join Mica Miller case

The FBI has reportedly been called in to investigate the death of Mica Miller, the wife of a pastor who local authorities said took her own life last month.

Miller, 30, was found dead in Lumber State River Park in North Carolina on April 27. She died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, the Robeson County Sheriff's Office said last week, based on "surveillance footage, interviews, physical evidence, and the examination of the North Carolina Medical Examiner's Office."

Her family has urged authorities to further investigate her death, alleging she was abused and groomed by estranged husband John-Paul Miller, 44, the pastor of Solid Rock at Market Common church in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He was in Charleston, South Carolina, on the night his wife died, the Sheriff's Office said. (Newsweek)
