In another era someone said of Kewanee, Illinois that there were as many taverns as their were churches in the City. That is an almost true statement, at least for a short period of the early 1940s. We learned this from our friend Dave Clarke when he joined WKEI for a brand new edition of Kewanee Back When which discussed the history of Kewanee Churches, those that are still here and those that have closed or moved to new locations.
