Join Professor Lynn Monrouxe, Convenor of Waranara and Dr Ryan Naylor, Sydney School of Health Sciences, Faculty of Medicine and Health, The University of Sydney as they discuss Ryan's paper "Key factors influencing psychological distress in university students: the effects of tertiary entrance scores". Ryan and Lynn will discuss the importance of self-determination theory (SDT) and the job demands-resources (JD-R) in explaining psychological distress among students. The paper finds that motivational pathways may be more important for well-being among well-prepared students, whereas less prepared students may benefit from support in meeting study- and life demands.
