Ryan and Lynn will discuss the importance of self-determination theory (SDT) and the job demands-resources (JD-R) in explaining psychological distress among students. The paper finds that motivational pathways may be more important for well-being among well-prepared students, whereas less prepared students may benefit from support in meeting study- and life demands. Interesting! We may require different strategies for different cohorts when supporting well-being in higher education.
