In Hebrews 12:28-29 we are led to the most consequential thing we do as Christ followers. We enter into worship through the gateway of gratitude. Because we have the privilege of receiving God’s unshakable kingdom, it’s important that we understand that an unshakable life is rooted in expressing gratitude through worship to Him. It’s in a life of worship that we actually experience what it means to know Him as a consuming fire. God covers all things with His grace, and we only need to put our faith in Him to live an unshakable life!

What is God’s will for our lives? Romans 8:29 reminds us that God’s ultimate purpose is to conform us to the image of His Son. But lasting change doesn’t come from simply trying harder—it comes from abiding in Jesus, the true Vine, and allowing the Holy Spirit to produce His fruit in us. Because our outward behavior flows from what is happening in our hearts, we must allow God’s Word to search, expose, and transform us through confession, repentance, surrender, and community. As we continually turn from ourselves and give Jesus the throne, He faithfully works within us to make us more like Christ. The God who began this good work in us will carry it to completion.

Jesus didn't come to make bad people good. He came to invite us into an upside down Kingdom where He is King and everything changes. As we follow Him, we surrender the temporary for the eternal, choose holiness over happiness, and reject complacency in favor of wholehearted obedience. The upside down life isn't always easy or comfortable, but it is the life Jesus modeled, the life He calls us to live, and the only life that leads to lasting purpose and joy.

In Genesis 33–35, Jacob discovers that one encounter with God doesn’t mean every old pattern disappears overnight. Even after being renamed Israel, Jacob continues to wrestle with fear, self-protection, control, and the instinct to rely on his own plans. Yet through it all, God remains faithful. He calls Jacob back to Bethel—not simply to a place, but back to worship, surrender, obedience, and the identity God has given him.

In this message, we’re reminded that transformation is a lifelong process. God is continually calling us to leave behind the things that pull us away from Him and return to worship.
