On a perfect bluebird day in June, KFFR hosted a momentous ribbon-cutting ceremony atop Granby Ranch to celebrate the installation of our brand-new broadcast tower. This new tower now powers our signal across Granby, Grand Lake, Hot Sulphur Springs, and even in most areas of Kremmling! This milestone marks a major leap in our mission to unite Grand County through local radio made by people, not machines.
Dignitaries, chambers of commerce, board members, and major contributors gathered at the summit site for a champagne toast, heartfelt speeches, and a shared sense of accomplishment. Granby Ranch, our generous host for the new tower, welcomed attendees to the mountaintop for this unforgettable celebration.
The event symbolized more than infrastructure, it was a testament to what community can build together. From our volunteers and donors to the engineers and advocates who made it happen, this tower stands tall because of you.
The celebration didn’t stop at 9,000 feet. Our annual Birthday Bash carried on at the base of the mountain with music, memories, and more (stay tuned for that recap!).
KFFR is now reaching further, sounding clearer, and staying true to our mission: independent radio at the Headwaters of the Colorado River.
