Khafre Jay - Hip Hop For Change, Activism and Social Justice

Listen Later

Khafre Jay is the founder of Hip Hop for Change, nonprofit empowering communities through the power of Hip Hop music and culture, focusing on social justice.

Khafre was influenced by Hip Hop artists early in his teen years, and after getting into trouble at a public high school, Khafre enrolled in the School of Arts in San Francisco. While enrolled, Khafre was able to find an outlet for all his anger and frustration and started taking back his power from a broken system through music.

After a few years of working for Greenpeace as a Director, Khafre decided to marry his love of education, hip hop, and his new experiences of canvassing and fundraising and launched Hip Hop for Change.
