چهارشنبه 23 ژوئن 1852 یک هنرمند جوان فرانسوی به اسم " لوک ماسپرو" از پنجره اتاقش در طبقه چهارم هتلی در پاریس، پایین پرید.
روی یک برگه سفید نوشته بود:
"سال های سال با لبخندش گلاویز شدم؛ امروز ترجیح می دم بمیرم!"
