"The Children of Israel were unable to bear the presence of Hashem when He visited them and after receiving the Ten Words (The Ten Commandments), they told Moshe to get The Torah for them. (“What He says, we will do.”) Moshe appointed Aaron and Hur and the seventy elders to rule the camp while he was away. In their impatience during Moshe’s absence, they decided he must have perished. What caused them to have Aaron build the Golden Calf so soon after receiving The Ten Commandments? Why did Aaron avoid punishment for this? What does the Golden Calf represent in our time? How can we avoid the same sin, ourselves? This week our Haftorah teaching is delivered by Brother Mark from 1 Kings 18:1-39, and the New Covenant E-drash is delivered by Sister Alpha from 2 Corinthians 3:1-8.We hope and pray that you find blessing in our teachings. We ask that you please join us each week as we dig deep into scripture to learn more about the God of Israel, and reveal the Messiah throughout the Old Testament.Pastor Richard CortesThe Foundation of The Word Outreach Ministrieswww.thefoundationoftheword.org
