Entergalactic is Kid Cudi’s eighth studio album, the album was officially announced through a press release in 2019 announcing an animated music series being made for Netflix in collaboration with Black-ish creator Kenya Barris, with the album releasing alongside the series.

In January 2020, the album would be delayed into 2021 with Ben Baller revealing in his podcast that a mixtape (the then unannounced Man on the Moon III) would be released in the year instead.

The next year in January, Entergalactic would be delayed again with the final release date set for the end of summer 2022.

On June 10, 2022, the first single for the album, “Do What I Want” was released.

Five days later, on June 15, 2022, Cudi announced through social media that both the album and animated show would release on September 30, 2022.

On September 23, 2022, a week before Entergalactic’s release, “Willing to Trust”, featuring Ty Dolla $ign was released as the album’s second single.
