Kids + Philanthropy: Alex Joins the Podcast to talk about his Summer Project

Listen Later

Introducing philanthropy to children is a great way to teach young people about humanity, empathy, and the power of service to our communities.

In this episode, I chat with my eight-year-old, Alex, as he shares his thoughts on his summer community service project. I’ve always included Alex in my philanthropic outreach, but as he gets older, it's important to allow him to choose how he serves whenever possible. I do not want him to think of service as something I make him do.  Nor do I want him to participate in projects that are of no interest to him. As he grows and learns about what he likes, I will find and connect him with philanthropic causes he's passionate about. I've attached a PDF to help you introduce or expand upon how you and your little ones engage in philanthropy.

You can grab this free download for tips on introducing philanthropy to your little ones.

Thanks so much for listening!

Fun Fact: This wasn't supposed to be an episode, it was simply me getting comfortable in the studio and introducing Alex to mom's new podcast.
