This is the story of a man that becomes an artist after committing a crime against a beautiful woman. The time is 1734, Peruvian colonial time.

It was originally written by Ricardo Palma, one of the greatest journalists and writers of his time. It is part of a book called Tradiciones Peruanas and the name of the tale is "La Trenza de sus Cabellos."

The sculpture is real and it is locked down at San Agustin church, in Lima, Peru. Visitors are not admitted.
