We're back! I know it's been a while, but our first episode of the year features Killer Grandma, the best LMN movie we've seen in quite some time. It's got ripped dads, mental institutions, deadly pool accidents, and Grandma's wearing cold shoulder shirts. We both loved it.
In this episode we rather tipsily (especially Lydia who apologizes profusely for being so annoying) review "When Husbands Cheat" with our friend Darby Wilcox. Darby is Mayor of Babetown and an incredible singer songwriter. Together, we eat Chinese food, drink "better than White Claws" and talk about our feelings regarding infidelity, stupid ass husbands, legal loopholes and SHREK! Happy New Year!
PS WE ARE NOT SPONSORED BY WILD BASIN
We take things down a notch in this episode to review Every Other Holiday, a touching family movie about what love really means. Yes, it's corny, but there are some tears, some real sage advice, and some terrible parenting to make us all chuckle a bit. Happy Thanksgiving.
In this episode we review DYING TO BE LOVED, a real suspenseful film revolving around Emily, a troubled teenager, her mopey and deranged boyfriend Gary, and Jill, Emily's protective and discerning mother. When Gary murders someone in a totally stupid and unnecessary manner, Jill has to figure out how to save Emily's life before it's too late--and it might already be. Please pardon Lydia's excessive use of the f-bomb and the phrase "then he's/she's like..."
In this episode, Lifetime attempts to get heavy, tech savvy and philosophical and fails miserably. A slog of a movie that was barely fun to joke about and could have quickly sparked a lot of debates if we felt like investing more in it, we're happy to be back nonetheless and hope to get back to a regular routine.
Welcome to episode five, where we discuss horrible real estate practices, self-absorbed people, and creepy kids. Plus, Jason Priestley! This is a doozy with lots of LOL moments, somewhat delayed because Lydia was on tour with THE MOUNTAIN GOATS! Enjoy!
In this episode we review The Lady Forgets, a "thriller" of sorts. It's got amnesia, double amnesia, mullets, bad cops, and art galleries out the ass. A true 90's Lifetime classic. Lydia had to drink a few glasses of boxed wine to get through this taping and even comes up with a great tagline. Sort of.
In this episode we review All the Good Ones Are Married starring queen Darryl Hannah. This is unfortunately a delayed/rerecorded episode because we are still learning how to edit without deleting entire episodes. Enjoy this romp through Shitty Husband Ville, complete with stereotypes about poor people, old people, and writers...also, a little argument between Michael and Lydia about where something took place!
In this episode we dissect the inappropriately titled Devious Nanny. Who is actually the devious person in this movie? Everyone. Everyone in this movie is awful. We're going to tear apart stigmas against foster kids, babies that may be 8 years old, false accusations, and of course, Brian Simon or Simon Brian or whatever his name is. You can't trust anyone in this movie so strap on in. If you're playing the drinking game, drink every time we mention an art gallery. There's a lot of that in this episode.
Welcome to Killed By This Podcast, where we watch Lifetime movies so you don't have to. We'll take you scene by scene through Seduced By My Neighbor, the tale of not so much seduction--in fact, none seduction--as a tale of stalking, shoddy security systems, retirement homes, and ping pong tournaments.
