Hey Family,

As a pastor I’ve heard more confessions than the Brooklyn DA. Whenever anyone is confessing something, they’re always sharing their greatest shame, their darkest secret, their deepest hurt. I can’t tell you how many times this has happened, but inevitably the secret, the hurt, the shame . . . has to do with sex.

This week we’re going to be diving into a topic that surrounds us every day. What with hookups, friends with benefits, and casual dating apps, this subject is becoming more and more prevalent in our hearts, in our lives, and in society. This week we will deal with the issue of lust. Lust can be considered much more broadly than just having to do with sex, and we’ll be discussing all the things that we can lust after. We will approach this very sensitive subject not by looking at our feelings or our culture, but at God’s word.
