In which Kim, accompanied by his devoted lama, encounters sceptical English officers who plan to send him to a regiment school, whilst the lama wrestles with his own spiritual quest and the sorrow of parting. The boy, caught between two worlds and their disparate beliefs, faces the uncertain prospect of a constrained future amid talk of war and destiny.
