He Will Replace You!

Season 9 Episode 6

Reading 1 Samuel 16

This is a reminder that God will replace us if we decide to do things our way instead of God's way. King Saul learned the hard way that worrying more about what man thinks or says than about what God has said does not work out very well for us. King Saul was replaced by David. Saul never did really realize that saying empty words of repentance to God does not not move God's heart. God looks at the inward man.

Reaping What We've Sown!

Season 9: Episode 5

Reading: 1 Samuel 14-16

This is a reminder that we reap what we sow. We can choose to reap to the flesh or we can choose to reap to the spirit. We reap to the flesh when we go to work to earn money, store up houses, land, and cars. We reap to the spirit when we pray, worship, spread the gospel, and disciple people. We are storing up on earth when we reap to our flesh, but we are storing up in heaven when we reap to the spirit. We will spend a very little time on earth while we will spend our eternity in heaven or hell. Why do we store more in earth than we do in heaven? We saw in today's reading where those who did Israel wrong were avenged by God through Israel while those who were kind to Israel were allowed to leave instead of be killed along with those that did Israel wrong. The things we do catch up to us one way or another. I challenge myself and you to be at least balanced, and sow 50/50, 50 % to the flesh and 50% to the spirit. This is realistic since we honestly sow more to the flesh storing up on earth. Being intentional and moving toward that 50/50 balance will help us to begin to sow to our spirit more, storing up for where we will ultimately spend our eternity.

Season 9: Episode 4

Reading: 1 Samuel 10-14

This is a reminder that when God chooses us, it means that he purposed us. I learned that God does not just purpose Christians, he purposes devils too. When God purposes anyone, he charges us to do something along with the purpose. God purposed Saul to be a king. His charge was to tarry 7 days until Samuel came before he did the offering/ sacrifice. When Samuel did not come in 7 days, Saul did it without him. We are purposed to share the Gospel. Our charge is to disciple people so they stay in the faith. We will find out in the next episode what happened to Saul when he did this. Are you walking in the purpose given to every christian to preach the gospel, and fulfill the charge to disciple those that receive Christ?

Season 9: Episode 3

Reading 1 Samuel 7-9

This is a reminder that all God wants to do is reconcile us tohim. It reminds us that we keep repeating cycles because, quite frankly, we want to. We often stay away from people who remind of what we should be doing. We serve other gods like social media, money, jobs, and spouses just to name a few. We put our wants and needs before the needs of God. This is what the Israelites were doing. They do what was right, but they chose not to do it until they were in over their heads. Only then would they call on God to rescue them. They stayed away from praying, and fasting until they were desperate. When they got desperate, they suddenly knew what they needed to do. All they and we need to do when we are not winning because we are repeating the same cycle of putting things before God is look in the mirror.

1 Samuel 4-6

This is a reminder that it is in our best interest to listen to God when we are in war. If God considers something sacred then we should consider it sacred. When God says something is going to come to pass, we need to

govern ourselves accordingly. In today's reading, we saw the Philistines and the Israelites pay for using the ark in a way God never intended it to be used. Lives were lost because of it. We must remember to stop and ask God instead of taking it on ourselves and mishandlling the things of God. They never stopped to just ask God before proceeding. The Israelites knew better, but they did not do better.

Scared to Deliver The Word?

Season 9: Episode 1

1 Samuel 1-3

This isa reminder that we cannot put anyone over God, not even our children. Eli, the priests learns the hard way that we cannot abuse or take lightly the authority in ministry God had given us. We cannot make grown people obey God, or even respect the things of God. What we can do is dismiss people who refuse to do things God's way. It is iur responsibility in ministry to uphold God's way of doing things. If it is our own flesh and blood, the same rules apply. It is too costly not to say anything, and allow our children to continue wrong when we are in authority above them in ministry.

Season 8: Epidode 1 and final

This is a reminder that when all else is lost, God is still working. Naomi learns that God always had a plan for her life even when she lost her husband, her sons, and was left without even food to eat. She traveled to Moab, a place where she knew God to be gracious with food. Her unfortunate positon ultimately led her to her blessing.

Season 7: Episode 8 Season Finale

This is a reminder of what we are supposed to do as Christians when we are offended or see a brother or sister sin. This takes you through how it was done in the old testament and how the bible says it is to be done in the new testament. You would not believe it unless you read it yourself-- how a levite dealt with the sins of the tribe of Benjamin.

When You Disconnect!

Judges 16-18

Season 7, Episode 7

This is a reminder that God still uses the word of God to speak to us through the Holy Spirit within us. Laish was a city that had disconnected from their people. They were livng in isolation without a gov't or any systems who could protect them or hold them accountable. They were far from their peole and had mothing to do with anyone. The reading today remind us of the importance of staying connected, and not isolating iurselves from those who could help us. The people of Laish were slaughtered, and their people did not even know. God reminded me that I needed to get plugged back into church, and get to know those within the church and be a part of the family of God so I can reap the benefits of exhortation, support, and growing together in God.

But Are You Following Through on the Word God Gave You!

Judges 13-15

This is a reminder that God will give us a word. This is also a reminder that we must have an ear to hear. Even more importantly than an initial "I hear you God" or beginning to implement the word, is am I following through with it? In other words, am I giving place for God to continue to speak to me about this word with next steps. The initial word is just the beginning. I must be willing to wait on God for how I need to proceed. Sometimes, things have to transpire in our lives before we can see and glean what God is trying to tell us. Sometimes, he just wants us to watch so we know what we are dealing with which will tell how we should be responding. When we are not willing to wait, we align ourselves with the enemy and still try to do God's work. This is counter productive.
