The song was written to be sung at a local women's conference earlier this year. The conference was focused on the book of John, which inspired the lyrics. While I have songs based on catechisms and prayers and Psalms, many of my songs are more devotional in nature. This song was written for congregational worship. It is my prayer that it would strengthen and encourage the faith of God's people, and orient our hearts, minds and affections toward the triune God of grace! Father, Son and Holy Spirit,
present at creation,
spoke the breath of life.
Jesus, living word became flesh,
brought to us his kingdom,
breaking in the light.
Oh what love is this?
The King of Grace he gives
his one and only Son
for those he loves.
See what love this is!
The King of Grace he gives
his life for those he loves,
that we might become
children of God.
From his fullness we have received
grace upon grace, freely
reconciled, redeemed.
Blessed are those who have not seen,
