King of Pentacles

King of Pentacles

Welcome to season 7 of this podcast, where I am talking all about the Suit of Pentacles. I’ll be going through each card in the suit, one per episode.

What we explore in this episode:

  • The King of Pentacles reflects on authority, control, and how we handle success

  • Symbolism across different decks: stability, mastery, and wisdom in the material realm

  • How discipline, patience, and grounded leadership shape this archetype

  • The importance of focusing on your own domain without overextending into others’ lives

  • Why true power lies in knowing when to hold steady and when to release control

Pictures from the decks I talked about today referenced from left to right:

  • Anima Mundi Tarot Deck by Megan Wyreweden

  • Ophidia Rosa Tarot deck by Leila & Olive

  • The Goddess of Love Tarot Deck: A Book and Deck for Embodying The Erotic Divine Feminine by Gabriela Herstik and illustrated by Julia Popescu

In this episode, we explore the King of Pentacles as the culmination of the suit’s journey. This card represents a mature mastery of resources, stability, and wisdom gained through lived experience. The King of Pentacles reminds us that true success comes not just from what we build or own, but from how we steward what we have. It invites us to cultivate discipline, patience, and practical leadership—and to consider how our personal foundation supports the well-being of others.

The deeper invitation here is to check in with ourselves: Are we using our power wisely? Are we honoring both our own growth and the needs of those we serve?

Today's Tarot Pull:

From The Citadel: A Fantasy Oracle by Fen Inkwright,  I pulled The Founder. This card speaks to legacy, foundation, and community-building. It’s a reminder that real leadership isn’t about control but laying down the sword, picking up the hammer, and helping build something lasting. It invites reflection on where you can offer steady support and where you might need to trust others to carry part of the work.

Reflective prompts on this card:

  •  What sort of person must you be to best support those around you?

  • How can you strengthen your own foundation instead of trying to control others?

  • What legacy or values do you want to cultivate and pass on?
