What happens when a book is racist? Should we just ignore it, and miss out on all of the other questions brought up by such a work - inside and outside of race presentation? Should we emphasize and focus on racism in order to condemn it? Pass over it for the positive elements of the story? Forget about it and get to the deep questions of life like the connection between a body and soul?
Or should we emphasize and examine all things equally in a detailed analysis of an author and his work?
