#KingChasing Podcast

The #KingChasing Podcast has released the first episode of its sixth season as NCCAA Communications Coordinator Richard Martin interviews Sheridan Nguyen, a junior at Serling College and a member of the Warriors’ women’s soccer, track & field, and cheer teams.

A native of Irving, Texas, Nguyen is a three-sport athlete at Sterling, recording 23 starts for the Warriors in women’s soccer, while also competing in the pole vault and long jump in track & field. Nguyen was also part of the Sterling cheer team that earned fifth place at the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) championships last year, and was a 2025-26 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District winner for all three sports.

In this episode, Nguyen discusses how she became a three-sport athlete at Sterling, how her heart for service has grown while in college, and how she and the Warriors celebrated the first annual #KingChasing Day.

The summer series concludes with the seventeenth episode of its fifth season of the #KingChasing Podcast as NCCAA Communications Coordinator Richard Martin interviews Isaiah & Michael Maggard, brothers and Men’s Soccer players for Alice Lloyd College, on their mission trip to Thailand and serving at Lifeway Camp in Tennessee.

During his time in Thailand, Michael was able to help local school children learn English, helped with sports camps, and served a local missionary family. Both Maggard brothers served at camp, supervising the young boys at the camp and sharing the Gospel with them over the summer.

In this episode, the pair discuss the variety of differences between serving in Thailand and Tennessee, the intentionality in serving, and how God moved at home and overseas.

The summer series continues with the sixteenth episode of its fifth season of the #KingChasing Podcast as NCCAA Communications Coordinator Richard Martin interviews Julia Galdamez, Anela Sandobal, & Madison Woodward, senior captains on the Azusa Pacific University Women’s Soccer team, on their trip to Mexico.

During their time in Mexico, the group, along with the rest of the Cougar Women’s Soccer team, helped build a house for a local family, played soccer with children in the migrant camps, and led devotions for those around them.

 

In this episode, the trio discuss how the experience opening preseason camp with a mission trip helped the team grow closer together, how they were able to work together to build a house in just three days, and how they interacted with the local community.

During her time in Kosovo, Widman helped with basketball camps for local school children, shared her faith with local members of the community, and visited missionaries serving in the area.

In this episode, Widman discusses how she grew in sharing her faith over the summer, how she handled being by herself in a foreign country for seven weeks, and the experiences of the missionaries in Kosovo.

The summer series continues with the fourteenth episode of its fifth season of the #KingChasing Podcast as NCCAA Communications Coordinator Richard Martin interviews Sydney Anderson, a senior member of the Pensacola Christian College Women’s Volleyballteam, and Jennika Beach and Kaitlin Rahn, seniors on the Emmaus University Women’s Volleyball team, asboth teams took trips to Guatemala with Dare For More ministries.

During their time in Antigua, Guatemala, the trio hosted volleyball camps for children, prayed for women and children in the safehouse, and did home visits to people in the area.

 

In this episode, all three ladies discuss what God taught them during their time in Guatemala, how they grew closer with the other members on their trip, and how their time in Antigua helped shape how they approach returning to campus for the new school year.

The summer series continues with the thirteenth episode of its fifth season of the #KingChasing Podcast as NCCAA Communications Coordinator Richard Martin interviews Kingsiah Oquendo, a sophomore member of the Lancaster Bible College track & field team, about his trip to Costa Rica.

During his time in Costa Rica, Oquendo, along with his Charger teammates, partnered with High Performance Sports (HPS) Costa Rica, to help with various ministries such as volunteering with widows in the area, holding sports camps for children, and buying food for those in need.

 

In this episode, the Oquendo discusses how the trip came together, his time playing with the children at the orphanage, and how God helped him step out of his comfort zone during the trip.

The summer series continues with the twelfth episode of its fifth season of the #KingChasing Podcast as NCCAA Communications Coordinator Richard Martin interviews Trinity Britton, senior, and Isabella Mayes, junior, from the Asbury University Women’s Basketball team about their trip to Costa Rica.

 

During their time in the Costa Rica, the pair, along with their Eagle teammates, worked with Roblealto, a non-profit organization whose mission is to care for children and adolescents in Costa Rica who are in social vulnerability and require specialized care for their proper integral development.

The summer series continues with the eleventh episode of its fifth season of the #KingChasing Podcast as NCCAA Communications Coordinator Richard Martin interviews two student-athletes from Pensacola Christian College – Hope Brooks, a senior women’s volleyball player, and Abby Matney, a senior women’s basketball player – along with Head Women’s Volleyball Coach Ryan Vanderboegh about their trip to the Philippines.

 

During their time in the Philippines, the trio helped with sports camps for the children in the area along with assisting with nursing clinics for those in need while sharing the Gospel.

 

In this episode, the group discusses the eye-opening experiences they had while serving in the villages, how they grew as teammates and classmates, and how they can take the lessons they learned serving overseas back to their campus.

During their time in the Philippines, Bauman and Jensen partnered with the Trash Mountain Project to help with sports camps and participated in worship services with local children who live in areas at or near trash dumps. 

 

In this episode, the duo discusses how they experienced life in and around trash for the first time, the joy of the Lord on the faces of the children they served, and how God helped change their mindsets during their trip.

The summer series continues with the ninth episode of its fifth season of the #KingChasing Podcast, as NCCAA Communications Coordinator Richard Martin interviews Lily Baalman, a senior at Great Lakes Christian College (GLCC) and member of the Women’s Soccer team who took a mission trip with GLCC to the Dominican Republic.

During her time in the Dominican Republic, Baalman played soccer with children at the GO Ministries Sports Complex and helped with construction projects with a local family, while also serving in the nearby neighborhood.

 

In this episode, Baalman discusses how she was able to use the NCCAA Sports Ministry Fund for the trip, the universal language of soccer, and how she is using what she did in another country on her campus.
