KINGDOM Invitation: Peacemaker and Persecution

Listen Later

Our sermon explored Matthew 5:9, "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God." We delved into the concept of being peacemakers in three areas of life: upwardly with God, inwardly within the church, and outwardly in the world. The message emphasized that true peacemaking is rooted in our reconciliation with God through Christ and requires active pursuit rather than mere conflict avoidance.

Takeaways:

Peace must first be received from God before we can share it with others. We need to establish personal rhythms that remind us of the peace we've experienced through Christ.

Peacemaking within the church community is crucial and often challenging. It requires compassion, grace, and forgiveness as we navigate relationships with fellow believers.

Being a peacemaker in the world may invite persecution, but we're called to overcome evil with good and live peaceably with all, as far as it depends on us.

As we go about our week, let's remember that peacemaking is not always easy, but it's a hallmark of those who belong to God's kingdom. May we each seek opportunities to be agents of God's peace in our families, workplaces, and communities.
